A degree in Naval Architecture at Southampton University, trained Nick to think with structure proportion and detail, skills he applies every day. After seven years in the IT industry, a chance meeting with Mark Wilkinson, the best in kitchen design of that time took him into the workshop to learn the craft hands on. Nick and Hannah founded Guild Anderson in 2003 setting up shop in the old fish hatchery at home.
Some twenty three years later and his fascination and enthusiasm for furniture design remains undiminished. As Creative Director he leads the design department turning ideas into calm, functional spaces built to last.

Andrew trained as a cabinet maker before spending fifteen years as a director of Artichoke where he also founded the Inspiring Makers Conference, a not-for-profit annual event supporting emerging furniture designers and craftspeople. Joining Guild Anderson in 2022, he brings a huge wealth of experience to the team and is responsible for managing growth in several areas. He is also a guest lecturer at The King's Foundation, an educational charity established in 1990 by King Charles III. Andrew grew up in Salisbury and now lives in south Somerset with his family.

Hannah says the best part of her job is photographing the completed kitchens: "It’s a wonderful thing meeting a happy client after a project is finished and seeing them in their beautiful new home." "There is so much to be proud of, the fantastic team that are Guild Anderson and the hard work and experience that goes into every project we make."

Kate studied interior design at school, she loves problem solving and spatial planning as well as the creative side of the job. She relishes that every client is different and the personal process that goes into every project.

Sam's role as client Contracts Manager is truly essential, not always a fun gig but one that Sam has taken on with aplomb. He has great attention to detail and 360 degree ability; allowing for even better communication between Guild Anderson’s design team and builders or architects on site.

Lauren joined the design team in 2018, working her way up to Senior Designer. Her new role as Design Manager ensures each project meets the level of excellence we expect. “I love the approach Guild Anderson have and how they will go the extra mile to create something truly unique for each client.”

Nick began designing and building furniture after graduating his degree in Interior Architectural Design in 2013. His background in Interior Architectural Design had him designing kitchens and joinery alongside other areas such as bathrooms and lighting. He is immensely interested in joinery and has a small workshop in his garden where he builds furniture for his home, friends and family in his spare time.

Matt joined in 2025 bringing over a decade of experience in technical design. He has worked within multiple disciplines ranging from experiential design, wayfinding and his specialist field in which he received a degree in (BAHons) Lighting Design. ”My aim is to embrace and implement new technologies ensuring Guild Anderson are at the forefront of estate cabinetry design and manufacture".

Lewis joined our team as Junior Furniture Designer. Having studied Industrial Design at University, his previous work experience is in both commercial and residential design, and is a highly skilled draftsman. He is an integral member of the design team and essentially works on design renders and quoting projects.

Ian started as Guild Anderson's first apprentice, in 2004. He went on to study furniture making at High Wycombe, rejoining the team after further training with another workshop. He says of Guild Anderson 'I am so impressed with the way the company has grown over the last 20 years, I feel very proud of what we do here.'

A fantastic cabinet maker and now a Technical Supervisor, who has been with us for 18 years, which counts for a lot of GA knowledge. Pete can turn his hand to anything and says 'he particularly enjoys the technical side and challenges of cabinet making, which means that no two projects are ever the same.'

Steve has become a fully qualified furniture maker during his time at Guild Anderson, passing his NVQ3. Steve ensures the workshop and production runs smoothly and efficiently.

George originally studied Engineering and spent 7 years specialising in classic Volkswagen parts. Wanting to follow a more creative path he has since retrained and qualified as a Joiner in 2020 and came to Guild Anderson in early 2025. He brings with him 5 years of experience as a cabinet maker and a passion for traditional woodworking.

Apart from a passion for furniture making, I’m a keen cyclist (preferably long distance road and off road cycling but as time not always permits I do enjoy shorter more intense local rides) My wife loves walks so I love them too. As a family we visit National Trust and English Heritage historic buildings (maybe this is where my daughters interest in history comes from, I hope she nurtures it.

Ryan joined Guild Anderson in 2023 after graduating from Bournemouth University with a BA (Hons) in Industrial and Product Design. Ryan's role as Production Designer is a crucial one, involving translating the creative team's bespoke design detail into drawings for the workshop to make from.

Nathan joined the GA team in 2024. He has over 20 years experience of creating bespoke furniture from workshop all the way to installation in customers homes. With a good understanding of the quality expected by clients and really cares about producing the best furniture for them, knowing that will be enjoyed for years to come.

My journey into furniture making began in 2020 with furniture restoration, moving sideways into my current role. I have a passion for staining and finishing products and take pride in doing so. In 2022 I earned a distinction in Level 2 furniture making, although having achieved this I’m still willing to learn and enhance my current skills.

David spent over 10 years running his own cabinet making company before joining Guild Anderson. He has experience in many areas of the trade and is excited to be part of a growing company that designs and manufactures quality kitchens and furniture.

Neil is a talented cabinet maker, with over 35 years of experience. Since finishing his City & Guilds, in Furniture, he has had a varied career in the industry. He is equally proficient using traditional hand tools as he is running CNC machinery. Neil has quickly become a valued member of the Guild Anderson team.

Duncan is a valued member of the GA workshop team. He very recently married after a long courtship to the lovely Theresa and feels life is complete now. He enjoys the mix of technical and traditional work, which comes with CNC and assembly.

When Ellis joined our workshop team he came with twenty years of cabinet making experience. He loves the variety of projects that he's worked on so far and is excited to expand his skills in the workshop. Out of work Ellis is a keen cyclist and uses it as a way to get out and explore the countryside.

James come to us fresh out of Gillingham school in 2021, he had studied A-Level in product design and maths and BTEC in applied science. He is now truly embedded in the GA team and has recently passed his level 2 apprenticeship which he should be very proud of.

Knowledge and skill is everything in a business such as this and Gordon has it in spades, although he comes from a farming background and still keeps cattle at home. Gordon has 45 years of experience and is a highly valued member of the workshop team.

Josh has been with us since 2017 ...which has passed in a blink of an eye. He started as an apprentice straight from school, and immediately took a great interest in CNC machining. After passing his Furniture Making NVQ2 he is now our primary CNC operator.

Joe has always enjoyed a workshop environment and having studied Product Design at A-Level he welcomed the opportunity to learn as an apprentice at Guild Anderson. This brings with it the next level of learning, helped by the more experienced members of the team and the amazing workshop.

I am a first year apprentice My journey to this point started with design and technology in secondary school I then went on to do a city and guilds level 1 in joinery, I am now studying an NVQ level 2 as a furniture making operative, outside of work I enjoy cycling, rock climbing, and country side walking. I also enjoy baking and cooking with my partner.

Matt is an ACCA and AAT qualified accountant dedicated to helping businesses grow through tailored financial insight and support. He’s passionate about turning numbers into opportunities. Outside of work, he’s a keen fan of rugby (both codes), football, and motorsport.

When Catherine decided to retire a few years ago she moved to the beautiful lake district, where she now continues her passion for dinghy sailing. We are lucky that she couldn't cut ties with us completely and she now manages our PAYE from her cooler climes!
